Amy Rusch

After completing her schooling at Rustenburg High School for Girls and excelling in the field of art Amy studied a year in Motion Picture Make-up and two years of Motion Picture Production Design at City Varsity School of Media and Creative Arts.

During this time she received various accolades for her achievements including winning the Cape Town Bodyspectra painting competition in 2011 and received distinctions, as well as Merit awards in all 3 years of study. Throughout her studies, and currently Amy is working in the film, theater, fashion and events industries, specializing in make-up, bodypainting, special effects make-up, production design, art directing and props fabrication.

Amy has a passion for making objects from recycled materials and her artworks were selected in 2011 and 2012 for the Cape Craft and Design Institute’s Handmade Collection and were displayed at the Design Indaba Expo as well as in galleries around the Western Cape.

Amy Rusch is presently working at City Varsity as an assistant lecturer in the art department. She also takes on freelance work and for the purpose of Door 6 Entertainment, offers her skills in bodypainting and make-up for events.
